PM Narendra Modi to Attend IIT Delhi’s 57th Convocation as Chief Guest

Over 3,000 students to receive degrees; institute’s new AI-based supercomputer to be launched during the ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 57th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where he addressed graduating students and felicitated degree recipients. Speaking to the students, PM Modi said that visiting the IIT Delhi campus was special for him. He described the occasion as a journey filled with enthusiasm and excitement, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the students’ lives. “You are not leaving with just degrees, but with dreams,” he said, adding that he was proud of all the graduating students. PM Modi also highlighted the rapid changes taking place in global strategic equations and the balance of global power, driven largely by the pace of technological advancement. He said no one could predict with certainty what the world would look like in the next 20 or 30 years, as technology, industries and businesses would continue to evolve. “Amid all this, remember one thing: those who keep learning succeed,” PM Modi said. Prof. Banerjee said that, besides PM Narendra Modi, Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi and NITI Aayog member Prof. Abhay Karandikar would attend the event as special guests. More than 3,000 students are set to receive degrees at the 57th Convocation, including a significant number of PhD graduates. IIT Delhi’s new AI-based supercomputer will also be launched during the ceremony.
