Niswarth Times is committed to publishing information that is accurate and verified. This policy explains how our newsroom checks facts before publication and how we respond when misinformation spreads.

How we verify information

• We trace claims back to their original, primary source wherever possible — an official document, a named spokesperson, or first-hand reporting.
• Important claims are confirmed with more than one independent source before we present them as fact.
• Images, videos and forwarded messages are checked for origin, date and context before use; we do not publish unverified viral content as news.
• Statistics and quotes are checked against the record and attributed clearly.

Handling uncertainty

When a claim is still being verified, we say so plainly and attribute it to its source rather than stating it as established fact. If verified information later contradicts an earlier report, we update the story and, where appropriate, issue a correction under our Corrections Policy.

Misinformation and rumours

Rumours circulate quickly, especially on local topics in Palanpur and Banaskantha. We do not amplify unverified claims. Where a false claim is already causing public confusion, we may publish a clear, sourced clarification to set the record straight.
