During his visit to New Zealand, the Prime Minister of India held a meeting with New Zealand's Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Chris Hipkins, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The discussions focused on key pillars of the growing India–New Zealand Strategic Partnership, including trade, technology, innovation, and stronger people-to-people connections. Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of expanding cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual growth and prosperity.
The meeting also highlighted the strong bipartisan support for India–New Zealand relations in New Zealand, reflecting the enduring strength and stability of the partnership. Such cross-party consensus is expected to further deepen cooperation and enhance long-term diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
The Lucknow–Kanpur 6-lane Expressway and the Lucknow–Hardoi 4-lane Expressway, constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), were inaugurated in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. Built at an estimated cost of ₹4,200 crore, the 63-kilometre, six-lane Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway connects Lucknow, Kanpur and Unnao, significantly improving connectivity and enabling faster, safer and more comfortable travel.
The ongoing Kharif season is expected to witness an increase in crop sowing over the coming weeks.Agricultural authorities believe that since the sowing window remains open, the cultivation area of major crops such as rice, pulses, and oilseeds may expand, leading to improved production prospects. Farmers have been encouraged to take advantage of favorable weather conditions and complete sowing activities within the recommended period.
The Rajasthan Government has taken a significant step toward strengthening natural farming and modernizing the agricultural sector. A total of 32 agreements have been signed with various organizations to support innovation in agriculture. The initiative will help farmers gain access to advanced farming technologies, scientific guidance, and environmentally sustainable practices.
